APS House Style :: Hand Editing
Equations can be numbered or unnumbered. If they are numbered, then they must be in numerical order, and the number itself is italicized and to the far right of the equation. Numbered equations in an Appendix are preceded by letters (Appendix A equations begin with A1, Appendix B equations being with B1, etc.)
Equations are hand edited using standard proofreading marks.
