Formatting APS Journal Articles :: Main Text
The Results section reveals the authors' findings. This section is very easy to format and requires little alteration. Note that at proof stage this section returns to standard font size, and this has to be coded for in the paper. Other than that, simply make sure that all the headers are properly coded and styled.
The Results header is a level 1 header.
Sometimes the authors combine the Results and Discussion sections, stating their findings and then explaining why the findings are relevant. This is completely acceptable, and the title will be Results and Discussion (a level 1 header).
The Materials and Methods section has a slightly smaller font size, but the Results section does not. The end of the reduced font size is indicated using the «/smt» code.
Right before the «h1» code of the Results, type «/smt» to indicate the end of the reduced font size.
