Formatting APS Journal Articles :: Special Cases
These are papers submitted in response to a request by the Editor-in-Chief for studies researching a specific topic. There is a deadline for these papers to be received and accepted, and the papers are either published as a complete set or in many issues, depending on the specific journal. Almost any other special type of article can be part of a Call for Papers.
Articles have a statement on the Title page stating that they are part of the Call for Papers and what the topic is. This information is added using the «file» function in ABRA in the Toolkit. At proof stage, this will appear as text below the shaded banner line as
CALL FOR PAPERS |Topic
Regular papers part of the Call are styled as though they were standard regular articles. Any other type of special article (like an Editorial) is styled as its relevant special case per the Special Cases section.
