Formatting APS Journal Articles :: Special Cases
Reports are presentations of new ideas or novel insights into physiological function. These papers are meant to look at the larger scope of the field and show broad significance. These papers are shorter than normal journal articles and usually much easier to edit.
At proof stage, "Report" is listed in the banner line of the article.
Reports are styled as though they were regular articles. It is not uncommon for level 1 headers to be combined (i.e., Results and Discussion).
